History of Our Schools

During the 2005-06 school year, Englewood Schools came to the realization that our staff and facilities could offer more to students in our community. Both Flood and Sinclair Middle Schools had a long-standing history in Englewood but two half-full buildings could no longer be an option. Extensive effort was made to carry on the traditions of both SMS and FMS when combining staff and students on the former Sinclair campus. We reopened our doors for the 2006-07 school year as the newly formed Englewood Middle School. In December of 2014, we moved to the newly completed Englewood Campus at 3800 S. Logan St. and are proud to have a state-of-the-art facility created for 21st Century Learning as our home. We also included the Englewood Leadership Academy as part of this new build initiative.

Englewood Middle School continues to offer students sporting opportunities like volleyball, track, and basketball. We also offer many high interest clubs like Chess Club, Leadership Council, and Writing Club.

Our middle school is proud of our rich history in Englewood, but is equally proud of what we have become. We are dedicated to the pursuit of academic excellence for our students, all the while facilitating a safe place to celebrate diversity and creativity.
